INHS triumphs in Division Journalympics 2022

Reaping top awards in the team, individual, and school paper categories, Isabela National High School is the top grosser in the recently concluded Division Journalymics 2022 with the theme “Promoting Filipino Core Values through Multi-Platform Campus Journalism” held at Isabela Schools of Arts and Trades- Main Campus.


The Isabelan’s radio broadcasting team, Verity Valley, bagged the Overall Champion in the Secondary-English category. The broadcasting team won 1st place in scriptwriting, infomercial and technical application. Butaka Patrol is the overall champion in the Radio broadcasting Secondary-Filipino category. The team placed 1st in infomercial, script, technical application, and news presenter awards.


The Isabelan’s TV Broadcasting Team, The Frontline, won the overall champion in the English Category. Its Filipino counterpart, Butaka Express, also won the championship. Both teams will proceed to the regionals. Moreover, teams of The Isabelan and Ang Kabataan are hailed as Champions in the Online Publishing category.


In the individual Secondary-English category, Sofia Mae O. Tan won 1st place in News Writing, Lord Benedick F. Fernandez placed 1st in Sports Writing, Christy Prejido won 1st place in Editorial Writing, Jan Leonard won 1st place in Science and Health Writing, Jan Alyzon Marie Mamuri garnered 1st place in Column Writing, and Ashley Glynz M. Angangan placed 1st in Journalism Vlog. The Isabelan photojournalist, Colyn Rosia, won 5th place, while John Mari D. Cabanos garnered 8th place in Editorial Cartooning.


Ang Kabataan also won several awards in the individual secondary Filipino category: Reshelle Anne G. Austria won 1st place in News Writing, Richmond Jasper C. Mancao won 1st place in Editorial Cartooning, Edwin Brix S. Timosa placed 1st in Photojournalism, Rachel Ann R. Angoluan won 2nd place in Column Writing, Em-jay A. Jacoben won 2nd place in Feature Writing, Christian C. Nebalasca placed 2nd in Sports Writing, Roland Bangug won 2nd place in Science Writing, and Bea Mae M. Navarro garnered 4th place in Editorial Writing.


Verity Valley, Butaka Patrol, The Frontline, Butaka Express and individual writers who successfully reached the top 3 will advance to the upcoming Regional Schools Press Conference on July 20-22.
