Commuting daily might have just gone costlier for some families with crude price hikes consequently affecting the prices of goods in the market and warnings of a global economic crisis rife. But for Christel Aguinaldo, a public school student in the City of Ilagan, it is worth paying 32 pesos to avoid overloading jeepneys. 'But for me, I don't really like skin-to-skin contact. “Jeepneys can really be crowded,” she added.
E-buses made its debut in the streets of Ilagan in 2020 before the pandemic started. Though it only resurfaced in social media these past few weeks as commuters share their delightful experience in riding the said vehicle.
Unlike the traditional jeepneys, e-buses are air-conditioned and less crowded earning blissful remarks from commuters tired of overloading, and the hot experience while riding jeepneys.
In a post, Mark Christian Fernandez said 'Ibang-iba ka na Ilagan' [You are so different (Ilagan)]. He also shared his experience when commuting as a student, how he sweats in his uniform, and how it's different now with the air-conditioned jeepneys.
Some shared their funny experience in riding the e-busses and even quipped about being ignorant of the vehicles' payment system.
What's clear with the commuters is that riding the e-busses made commuting easier, and more convenient.
