A woman who believes that everything is possible if you believe in God.
Roslyn Vea Damasco has been a consistent honor student since nursery. She graduated as valedictorian at Ilagan East Central School (Elementary) and Isabela National High School (Secondary), receiving all best subjects awards. Teacher Vea got her Bachelor of Secondary Education degree with a major of Special Education and a minor in Mathematics at the University of the Philippines Diliman where she received a latin honor of Magna Cum Laude placing 3rd highest general weighted average among the graduating batch in her college.
She took the Licensure Examination for Teachers last September 2021 and out of the 17,000 secondary education teachers who took the exam, she ranked 1st with a rating of 93.40%.
She is currently a national lecturer, researcher and a program mentor for education at Carl E. Balita Review Center - the biggest review center in the Philippines.
Her motivation to become a teacher
“My mother inspired me to become a teacher. Ever since I was young, I used to sit in one of her classes. I saw how passionate she was about teaching. My parents saw my interest and bought me a blackboard instead of a toy to play with my friends. "
Damasco’s academic performance as a student
"I was competitive in high school and in college. I wanted to compete with myself to be better than I was before."
Her life-journey realizations
"God's timing is perfect: if something is meant to be yours, it will be yours; no pandemic, failures and rejections can snatch that from you. You just have to trust God as to when He will give it to you." Her advice to the LET takers is, “Don’t pray to pass the LET; pray to be a deserving teacher because the lives and dreams of every student lies on you”
She was able to spread God's words, inspire and touch other people's lives by pursuing education. She may have experienced several trials in life, but by God’s grace, she has been able to conquer all the triumphs in the end.
