Forging Excellence: Ilagan engineers among board topnotchers

Two engineers from the City of Ilagan were among the national level topnotchers in the October 2021 Metallurgical Engineer Licensure Examinations.

Engr. Bien Alexis Figarola ranked second in the said Engineering Licensure Exam, while Engr. Jolina Pagulayan ranked fifth.

Both are graduates of Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

The Isabela PIO has recognized Engr. Bien Alexis Figarola and Engr. Jolina Pagulayan's achievements for giving honor to Region 2 despite the trials of the pandemic.

In an interview with GMA Regional TV, Engr. Figarola said that he felt glad when the results came in. He said that "Life works in mysterious ways." He did not expect to pass or top the board exam. He gives credit to his hardworking parents and is grateful for their sacrifices, love, and support. "Finally, I can move on with life and get to work to financially support my family,” Figarola added.

Engr. Jolina Pagulayan, the 5th national topnotcher in the October 2021 Metallurgical Engineer Licensure Examinations, was a former chairperson of UP-KAISA and was also a part of the Philippine team that won third place in the international metallurgy competition in Russia.

They serve as role models for Isabeleño's youth.

Long live the City of Ilagan’s new engineers! Let us serve our people!
